I had heard of Ethan through April Surgent, they share studio space in Seattle but haven’t til now checked out his work. It left me with jaw open and almost a sense of futility in my own work. His surface textures and use of colour are just beautiful. I must try harder , I must try harder…..

Up and running
Oh what joy to be working and not freezing various sticky out things off. Got a whole kiln full fusing away and have already got over the first disaster of the year (beautiful large new ellipse shape slump caught on the edge of the grinder and smashed in two). Pushing the glass to it’s limits will always produce disaster, so best to get over it quickly.

First Firing of the year....finally
Just taken too long but finally slumping 4 new vessels. Workshop is still a tip though and wondering if it will ever resemble an effective working studio with un-cluttered workspace with no drips.
